It all started in high school when I joined the yearbook committee and got my first camera, a Rebel T3i. That camera went everywhere with me, and nothing compared to the joy of documenting the most formative moments in people’s lives. I became "the girl with the camera"—you’d find me at every school event, Rebel around my neck, capturing memories that would last forever. But photography wasn’t always on my radar as a career. For years, I had my sights set on joining the military, hoping to travel and figure out what I truly wanted in life. What I didn’t realize was that my passion had already been in my hands all along.
Community has always been my anchor. During those years, I rediscovered my love for photography through a group of supportive photographers who inspired me. I started taking photos again, capturing events, and sharing my favorite local businesses. That’s when the seeds of Rooting Media were planted.
Rooting Media was built on a simple belief:
Small businesses are the backbone of a thriving community. My goal is to create content that connects people to the businesses they love and helps local entrepreneurs grow. Now, I live in Rhode Island with my husband, surrounded by the charm of small towns, quirky cafes, and family-owned shops. Every day, I’m inspired to keep traveling, exploring, and rooting for local communities—one photo at a time.
